Last Sunday 30th October 2011 Westcombe Park under 6s travelled away to Canterbury for a training session followed by our first ever friendly fixture.

Despite the 60 miles each way journey we took 14 under 6s, supported by mums and dads.

After a very enjoyable training session run by Dominic McCully and Andy Smith of Canterbury RFC, we played our first ever friendly fixture and scored a 3 tries each draw, with tries from Elliott Butler and 2 tries from “Man of the Match” Matthew Chick. A very big thank you to Andy Smith of Canterbury (seen in the background of this photo with his son Oliver) who refereed the game superbly.

Thanks to all of the mums and Dads who made the journey to Canterbury and in particular to Mark Berenburg who helped me organize the side on the day. Despite our very good performance we still have a couple of things to work on, so we will all be at training at home this coming Sunday. See you all then!!!
