Our lads faced an unfamiliar festival format of rapid 10-minute matches with no half-time at the Old Whitgiftians Festival today, with all seven clubs entered playing on the same pitch.

Our first match against Tonbridge Juddians ended with a 1-0 win so we had high hopes for our Blue & Whites. Next up were Blackheath, who brought us back down to earth with a 0-2 loss. We fared only slightly better against Old Alleynians with a 0-1 loss.

Hosts Old Whitgiftians (eventual age group winners) resulted in another 0-2 loss, so not a slaughter by any means. Our lads finished the day with 2 more wins: 6-0 against Reigate and a try with 10 seconds to go led to a 1-0 win over Beccehamians.
