Nomads 5 Colfes 26

|All was quiet in the Nomads camp. All under control and looking forward to a nice gentle game against Colfe’s Saturday. Selection proved to be difficult as the 1st Team had not to made their selection till Which meant lower sides had to help out the 2nd team with players to field a side. What fun we had trying to field the sides.
The Nomads were still in confident mood on the road Colfe’s, we did have 16 very committed WPRFC players playing out of position in places, thanks to Gareth Desborough and Jimmy Bignell
On arrival at Colfe’s as usual their 2’s game was scratched, so what side we were playing! Supposedly their 3rds which have 7 “guests” which had played 2’s and the previous week. Well we then had some clues. The opposition scored two quick try’s in the first 10 mins and took up by surprise a little. Not a great introduction for a few new recruits, @Jonathan "Jonty" Ryder Jonty Ryder returning to the club and Harry Bennet for his first game at 10.
We then played out of our skins with true Combe spirit. Admirably led by “The Road Train” Jamie Taylor and supported by Al “|The Smash” Robbins, Alan Robbinswith some constructive orders from “The General” Jimmy Bignell. No score for the rest of the half, constant penalties for twenty minutes against Colfe’s in their 22 without any cards saw their line unbreeched by The Nomads.
Half time and we maintained the pressure, seeing Jimmy Bignell crossing the line, 5-14 a comeback looked possible, but turned out not to be, when our second venture over their try line saw a deliberate knock on by them 5mts out after a storming run by Danny Sullivan, to be then deemed, held up over the line. Colfe’s not releasing and 3 on floor on the wrong side didn’t seem to matter?
A moral victory was obtained but unfortunately the score sheet still said we lost.
On a bright side we played 80% of the Rugby with a great team spirit. Outstanding touch kicking from Richard “Jonny” Lenard Richard Leonard was a sight to behold.
.
Big thanks to the whole side for your Team/Club sprit.
