Nomads Win

This week saw the Nomads break camp and trek across he dessert to Beccehamian’s, with many camels the journey was short and arrived in good time. We welcomed a few returns to the fold which fitted in just fine. Chris “Cipriani” Watts, Jimmy “Anywhere”Bignal, Si “Lancaster”Allen , Shane”Spitire” McMullen, Graham “Grandad” Parrish and of curse Rod “The Mole” Parrish. With a good warm up and camels watered, the game started.
We were up for this game and our first attack after 15 minutes, as we took that long to get the ball! A break from our 22 saw the ball go through 8 pairs of hands the length of the pitch, and you would think this a tall story, but Rich Snape, doing Will Greenwood impressions crashed over for a try. We got into our stride with JK’s dazzling two step and Matt Gossling’s twinkle toes runs. We broke Twiggy, and shortly after Gavin, get better soon boys. There centres were getting run over by Rich and 5th phase ball on 31 minutes saw Shane shoot his way to the line. Debut Jug!! James Lee converted 12-0 going into half time. After a pep talk from Snapey, “The same but different” The second half saw us defending a very determined effort from Beccs, but from 1 to 15 put in an impressive shift, note worthy though Jack Woodhouse, Shane, and Matt for try saving tackles. This saw us work our way up the park and with great lineout work from Kelan “Dillan he rabbit”McPollin, saw Jack Woodhouse storm the try line. Con by James Lee 19-0 on 75 mins. Our attack continued from the kick off ad on 9 th phase ball saw Shane cross the line for his second try and 2nd jug for jug avoidance! Good man. James missed the con due to an audience, 24-0 Great Start to the Season Chaps.
Now I can't do it for you.I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and
You know when you get old in life
things get taken from you.
That's, that's part of life.
But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is Rugby. Because in either game life or Rugby the margin for error is so small.
I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in every break of the game every minute, every second.
In the Nomads team, we fight for that inch
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.
Cause we know when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.
