EG Storm win thrilling encounter

Where do I start!
From a stroll to pitch that was more like a romantic walk than the battle that was about to ensue! It was a game that had it all
From the kick off East Grinstead were hard running everything, but the D from the boys was absolutely first class,
They ran we tackled turned over and ran back, the last pass was missing but it was coming
On 20 Johnny put a pen over then again on 24 0-6
EG got a pen on 30, 3-6
The boys back themselves in open play and strong running from Ben Hennah and Luke Maybank put EG under the cosh, we bullied up in the corner and asbo goes over , Johnny converts 3-13
From the restart we worked hard all over the field, josh Maybank and Ryan Hackett everywhere, asbo like a Duracell bunny on speed, marvellous.
Half time
We start as we finished but EG were strong in the catch and drive
They peel off the back at the breakdown we get pinged and new boy Louis gets a yellow,
We crack on under the cosh and a cheeky not 10 from mr gilling sees him in the bin as well
EG score a well worked try and convert on 55 10-13
Louis back on, we start to throw it about and we are getting stronger but yet again on 67 EG who's set play was strong go over and convert 17-13
We come back with old heads on young shoulders , Christian Weald gets the ball 35 out , backs himself and over he goes 17-18
6 to play we give away a cheap pen 20-18
The boys still have a go we get a pen on 79 unfortunately pushed wide
Final score EG 20 Combe 18
What a performance , full of strength of character lead from the front by Rob Lewis. The commitment you boys put in was immense, tackled yourselves to a stand still. Today was the bench mark, players pushing for selection is fantastic.
It's hard to pick a man of the match but Josh Maybank take a bow! Quality in a position that normal warrants a bigger heavier man but today you were that man!
Even thow its a lose I think we will be a better team for it.
Happy, Simon
