Playing into the wind and up hill wasn't the best start for the game and it took all the composure and defence from the X-men to keep Canterbury out who were in our 22 for the first fifteen minutes.
Kicking was pointless in the wind so the boys tried to run everything, finally with some good hands saw Ben Hennah beat 3 to score on 27mins Joe Simpson converts 0-7.
We started to drop off tackles and let Canterbury in before the half 7-7.
Now playing with the wind or so we thought should have made our life easier but the boys didn't capitalise enough on any possession we had and let Canterbury in on 55 12-7.
After we pulled our fingers out we put the pressure on Bradley Kayton with a great run, simmo the same and Dan Fox getting taken round the eyes a metre out the score we needed was coming.
From a line out seeing James Catlin leaping like a salmon Lewis Williams drives forward on the boys march over from 15 out on 74 Simmo has it all to do with the conversation and he nails it 12-14
The boys hang on to win the game.
Dan Fox for his outstanding tackling and ball stealing at the breakdown and Jamie Taylor for his massive effort all game get my choice as men of the match.
Good luck Joe Birch in Oz its been a pleasure.
Thank you to Canterbury for laying on the coach and the lager
