Revenge exacted accordingly

The team started out of the blocks with pace and aggression wanting to right the wrong from the last game against Hammersmith.
With some good handling in shocking conditions saw Nick Porter with a strong fend and run go over on 5 minutes, Harvey Young converted. 7-0
We pushed hard from the re-start and started to put some training park moves together, the forwards carrying well and Harvey Young put some slick passes in gave him the chance to wrap around step and score a well worked try on 11 minutes, 12-0
In the conditions and with our tails up we tried to push the ball to much instead of hanging on to the ball. We then took control and time over our play and with some good pick and drives saw the ball in Dan Foxs hands to go over on 27 minutes. 17-0.
On a day that wasnt designed for fast flowing rugby had the back three coming in field looking for and helping out in close quarters, we then spun it wide and with his electric pace had Bradley Kayton go over just before halftime Harvey Young coverts 24-0

We started the second half at the same pace as the first, we had a scrum 10 yards out and with the power of Marlon and Taff we marched Hammersmith back, Andy Wren on his first start for Combe controlled well at the back of the scrum for his first score. Harvey converted 31-0
The game became really scrappy with the ball like a bar of soap and neither side being able to tell who was who!
It took us till the 75 minute and a tap and go James Catlin using his size and weight bounced one of the oppo out of the way to score James Poole converts 38-0

Fulltime

Today we had Andy Wren and Angus Wilson have their first start for the 2s and both proved they have the ability to play at this level so well done.
It would be hard to pick a man of the match out due to the fact you all played well as a team and played for each other with encouragement and passion,
but Nick Porter who still turned up full of flu gets my vote as he showed what playing for Combe is all about
Top result, happy!
Simon.
