Impressive win at Old Reigatian 1st XV

Without a league game this weekend, London 2 SW Old Reigatian hosted the X-Men, Today's game against a quality 1st XV was a big test for the boys.
From the start we had our work cut out and defended strongly around the ruck and in open play. Good one up tackles and plenty of positive chat from the boys kept us in the game.
Both sides had chances in the first half but couldn't put points on the board. Our defence was that strong that Reigatian's chose to take a penalty on 20 minutes 3-0.
The rest of the first half was much the same but we started to turn the screw with strong ball carrying from the forwards James Snape, Chris Lewis and James Catlin with Richard Halstead tackling well and Joe Simpson controling our backline.
A chip and chase from Simmo should have had us a try up but with Michael Halstead chasing as well created a bigger area than Simmo needed to get round!

Half Time

After a good chat we came out firing we worked hard to create space and Kieran Leeper goes over on 45 Joe Simpson converts 3-7
The quicker ball we were creating for ourselves made it hard for the opposition to keep up and we did butcher a couple of chances.
Lineout just inside their 22 Dan Gilling catch and drive and we go over on 55 3-12
From there we pressured all over the park, Phillip Loyden running some great lines, was causing problems in the middle of the pitch and with Dan Fox first at about every break down it was only a matter of time.
Loose ball on the 1/2 way Joe Simpson kicks through and chases, kicks again and again RVPesque and scores on 72 converts his own try from wide out 3-19

Reigatians didn't give up and keep running strong until the whistle.

Man of the match Richard Halstead tackled everything that moved, hit the rucks hard and carried well.

We need all to be at training as we have a big league game next week
