It is with great pleasure that we can announce a very exciting development.

As set out below which will raise Combe’s profile locally and greatly assist with our enhanced efforts to increase awareness of the club within our area to help encourage more players into the club.

The volunteer for our first Saracens Ambassador will be Stuart Lorberg, ( mobile 07810713993, email Stuart.Lorberg@westcombeparkrugby.co.uk) a parent in the U8’s who works for Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), a new main Saracens sponsor. Stuart, who brings enthusiasm and a connection with all aspects of this relationship, will be working closely with the Combe management and our youth organisers to ensure that this initiative is an integral part of the club’s plans for the future.

The prospect of partnering with Saracens as a prominent and established Premiership club is extremely exciting so would exhort everyone associated with Westcombe Park to embrace the programme . As the partnership develops I would ask that all ideas and comments be addressed through Stuart to ensure effective communication and maximum benefit.

The initial opportunity is during half term on 29th October for a one day training camp and coaching evening details of which will be circulated very soon.

Outlined below are some important elements the Partnership Programme entails, the benefits that can accrue to partner clubs and please note the more we engage with Saracens the more Westcombe Park RFC can benefit.

Saracens Announce New Signing….. Westcombe Park RFC!!

Westcombe Park RFC based in Orpington, one of Kent’s leading clubs with five senior teams, a successful academy and a strong minis & junior section has become an official member of the Saracens family with the accreditation of Saracens Partner Club status.

This formalises the link between Westcombe Park RFC and Saracens which brings a range of benefits to both club and members.

The initial opportunity is that Saracens will be visiting the club on Wednesday 29th October for a rugby camp during the day for 6-16 year olds and also an evening of coach education for all coaches registered at the club. Richard Gregg, Head of Rugby Development at Saracens outlined:

“Saracens is ambitious both on and off the field, with a new 4G pitch and stadium, alongside our expanding community team we continue to grow and evolve. Part of that is the success of our club partnership programme and the ability to work closely with well-run clubs across the community. We are able to provide coach education, access to professionally run mini festivals as well have a coaching and player presence amongst clubs via our rugby camp programme. Westcombe Park will sample all of this in the first quarter of the season and experience first-hand what a positive programme they are now associated with. Saracens very much look forward to working with the club.”

Saracens Club Partnership Programme

The Partnership Programme consist mainly of three pillars and programmes:

1. Coach Education Programme - Club visits as well as lectures and pro sessions at Allianz Park that all your coaches will be invited to. All Free of Charge.
2. Rugby Camps Programme – During the school holidays we seek host clubs for our coaching delivery.
3. Minis Match Day Festivals – Every match day we run festivals for different age groups, providing an opportunity to take part in fixtures at Allianz Park Stadium on the 4G pitch itself while the crowd builds for the game.
