Proposed Met Kent Vets Rugby Programme 2014-2015...

What?
A proposed series of regular but infrequent fixtures for vets who have retired or likely to retire from week in week out rugby.

Who?
For vets or older players 35+ years in SE London. Not for players playing regularly.

Why?
To keep the FUN in rugby.
To bring together or back, friends and teammates.
Vets want to play but don’t want to play over zealous youngsters and ringers.
Evergreen Cup is a competitive knock out cup. Many teams play once then default remaining matches.

How?
A series of fixtures - not a league.
Short matches – leaving time for unwrapping tape, socialising, reminiscing and even singing?!
Trust essential.
Law variations / regulations to promote the spirit of rugby and deter abuse of the programme.

When?
Saturday once a month. 6 fixtures per season.
Not during school holidays – many vets are also parents.
Avoiding Jan – Feb poor weather window.
