A GAME OF TWO HALVES!

It was to be a great day for a game of rugby, the sun was out and due to the 2nd’s misfortune we got our second game on the 1st team pitch, smashing, great. After Rich Leonard had check for low flying hemorrhoids we were good to go. Erith arrived with a bear 15 of which one was flakey. We had agreed due to our large bench to lend them players, big hand to Harrison Shea and Louis Hoad for stepping up and playing the 1st half. The Nomads after getting over the shock of the superb playing surface being so big, played probably the best flowing rugby of the season clocking up a try every 5 minutes to end the 1st half 39-0. Second half we swapped our best ball carrier Sam O’Neill and our outstanding 10 Jimmy Bignal to the opposition, Sam carried relentlessly and Jimmy was outstanding, leading Erith into life, we just won the second half 10-5 with Sam scoring for Erith. A great game of rugby for a great day. The ref was not bad either and I have not seen so many players eager to talk to the ref after the game, may have something to do with Billy discussing manhood sizes with her!!
Oh, we could hide 'neath the wings
Of the Nomads as they stings
The six-o'clock alarm would never ring
But six rings and we rise
Wipe the sleep out of our eyes
The shaving razor's cold and it stings
Cheer up sleepy Combe
Oh, what can it mean to a
Daydream believer and a
Homecoming Nomad?
You once thought of us
As a white knights on our steeds
Now you know how happy we can be
Oh, our good time starts and ends
Without all I want to spend
But how much, baby, do we really need?
Cheer up sleepy Combe
Oh, what can it mean to a
Daydream believer and a
Homecoming Nomad?
DOD Harrison Shea -For running into our hardest tackler
TOD Jimmy Bignall – For kicking better for the oppo than for us
MOM Sam O’Neill – For outstanding ball carrying for both sides.
