Take nothing away from Worthing, they are a very good side indeed with a strong pack and a very skillfull and pacey set of backs but on the day it was Westcombe Park that were better prepared running out comfortable winners. The forwards were in fine form providing a solid platform for the backs to go on and wreak havoc running at the Worthing defences.
The result was well earned and bar 20mins in the 1st half where discipline was a concern, and inevitably when Worthing had their best spell of the game, this was a very good performance for the 1st game of the league campaign.
A few stand-out performances will undoubtedly have the coaches talking and will have their counterparts in the 1st team looking over their shoulders.
