The home-side's forwards had a try bonanza in this fixture against bottom of the table CS Stags notching 6 of the 8 tries scored. They were also pretty dominant in their bread and butter tasks, dominating scrums and lineouts equally. That having been said, CS Stags fired a few shots of their own, scoring 3 tries and being unlucky not to take away a try scoring bonus point.

Rafael Dutta opened WPRFC's account after 6 minutes dotting down on the back of a good driving maul. Matt Hancock kicked the conversion. Stags were soon on the score board when Proctor scored between the posts after concerted pressure by the visitors.

At 7-7 it looked like we had a match on but the rest of the half was a bit of a procession as Harry Sansbury, Hugo MacPherson, Matt Harrison all scored for Combe. Sansbury's try came after strong work from full-back Keita Orelaja, Macpherson's following a 30m break by Nick Cook and a 50 m gallop from the lock himself. Centre Matt Harrison's score came when he grubber-kicked, then collected the ball adroitly to touch down. Cameron Hancock kicked the 3 conversions to give Combe a 28-7 lead and the try bonus point.

That lead increased to 38-7 when retuning hooker Ollie Colegate finished off a move out wide on the left 3 minutes into the half and then Nick Cook scored on the 51 minute mark when a dominant Combe scrum pushed CS Stags over their own line.

CS Stags had a mini revival scoring twice in the space of 3 minutes when Parimal Shrestha and then Oli Bryant scored the latter coming when the centre ran nearly the length of the field to outpace the chasing Combe cover. Oxygen was offered to the out of breath player but politely declined.

A couple of yellow cards to the visitors didn't help their resolute efforts and Colegate picked up his second try of the match after a lineout catch and drive and then James Blackmore finished off a move featuring a lovely change of attacking angle from Orelaja to leave Combe clear winners at 48-19.

No match this coming week-end and Combe's next game is down on the South Coast against Havant. The CS Stags travelling fans looked as if they enjoyed their visit despite the score-line.
