We require players either established and ready to play 1st team rugby who will strengthen our 1st team squad and players with the desire and potential to play at National League level who will initially compliment our 2nd team where promotion to the 1st team will be a natural part of your development. We also require players of all ability’s levels wishing to play social rugby and turn out for our 3’s, 4’s and Gents.

With a new coaching and management team in place, plans for next season are looking bright. The new look coaching team will be made up of Jamie White, Simon Jervis and Steve Wagstaff being supported by team managers John Ward Turner and Mark Ley who collectively bring an abundance of skill, experience and enthusiasm. The addition of Gideon Roux as strength and conditioning coach supported by our medical team of Dr A. Mukul and Sports Therapist Denise Thornborrow completes the team committed to delivering success at 1st and 2nd teams level.

We are delighted that Fraser Thomson and Steve Reynolds now share the responsibility as Directors of 1st team rugby and have already secured the signatures of a number of new players for the forthcoming season, they have identified and approached several players with many showing interest in joining, negotiations are ongoing and announcements will be made on the WPRFC website in due course.

We always welcome new players to the club of whatever level. Preseason training starts on Monday 5th July and will run every Monday and Wednesday at 19:00 throughout July and August. If you are a new player wishing to join the squad please feel free to come along to either or both of the sessions on Monday 5th and Wednesday 7th July where the coaches will assess your ability and place you at the appropriate level within the club. If you are unable to attend those sessions then we are always open to new players so please feel free to come up when you can.
