Combe’s difficult season continues despite having led 21-0 and 28-12 at a couple of points in the first half, securing a try bonus point courtesy of powerful hat-trick from returning flanker Ben Charnock and a brilliant example of wing play by Jack Aungier. But a resilient Havant side had narrowed that gap to 28-27 at half-time scoring the first couple of that half dozen unanswered tries in the process.

The try fusillade continued for the first 20 minutes of the second period as Combe indiscipline saw them pick up another couple of yellow cards to add to the one they incurred on the cusp of half-time. 4 further tries were struck by Havant who were deservedly out of sight at 28-53. But Combe discovered a bit of grit, Charnock notching his fourth of the afternoon to underline his status as Combe player of the match and Lukas Eldstrom crossing as well to add a modicum of respectability to the score. It was up to the visitors to add their own gloss scoring with 10 minutes left to make the final score 42-58.

Best wishes to Sam the Havant player who was stretchered off with a nasty injury.

A weekend off to allow Combe to catch their breaths and re-set for the rest of the season.
