Smith returns to the side having missed last weekends thriller at Colchester, as he was making his international debut for Jamaica in Birmingham. He partners last weekend’s match winner Rafael Dutta in a powerful engine room as duo link up for what will be another physical encounter.
Smiths return allows Aidan Devane to return to the back row and start at blindside, in a back row which also welcomes back Harry Hudson, who was unavailable last week, on the openside. The back row is completed with skipper Nick Cook at No.8, with Michael Dunnett starting from the bench as reinforcement for the back five.
Aaron Cooper starts in his more familiar position at loose-head, making up a front row also containing Calum Harris at Hooker and Travis James at tight-head. Jack Cowman gives front row cover from the bench.
The backs remain unchanged from last week, with the excellent half back pairing of Jacob Buckley and Matt Harrison resuming their partnership in the halves. The midfield duo of Sam Rhodes and James Burton also return in the centres.
The back three trio is made up of Joe Ratcliff and Kieran Thompson on the wings and Toby Wallace at full back. Bradley Bateup starts from the bench as cover for the backline.
Cameron Hyne (unavailable) is missing from last weeks squad, whilst Joe Cooper starts for the Extra 1st XV this week.
