TEAM NEWS: HARRIS TO DEBUT AND COOK RETURNS!

TEAM NEWS: HARRIS TO DEBUT AND COOK RETURNS!

David Marshall16 Sep 2022 - 10:15

Combe name exciting squad to face Medway RFC at Priestfields (Kick off 3:00pm)

Calum Harris, a summer signing from Leicester Lions in National 2, makes is Combe debut at hooker in a re-jigged front row that sees Marc Mühlemann return to the starting line-up, following his powerful display off the bench last week. Elliot Roofe is retained at loosehead and Travis James moves to the bench as front row cover.

Rafael Dutta makes his first start of the season, having recovered from an injury picked up in pre-season, partnering Gary Brett in the engine room.

There is a welcome return to the back row for skipper Nick Cook, who missed last week’s win against Sudbury. Cook packs down at No.8 and is joined in the back row by Josh Smith at blindside and Harry Hudson, who moves back to his more familiar position at openside. Jordan Dehaarte provides additional forward cover from the bench.

After an impressive four try debut in Round 1, Joe Ratcliff comes back in on the wing, having missed last week through illness. He is joined in an exciting back three by Sam Rhodes on the wing and Toby Wallace at full back.

The midfield is unchanged, Matt Harrison remains at fly half partnering Jacob Buckley in the halves, KK Orelaja and James Burton remain in the midfield. Rob White, also missing last week through injury, returns from the bench.

Unfortunately, we are without Aidan Devane, Bradley Bateup, Kieran Thompson, and Sam Fombo (unavailable) from last week’s squad.
