Last seasons league winning campaign exceeded all expectations, but with the retirement and departure of several players, plus to challenge of National League Rugby, we have moved quickly to fill the gaps and bolster the squad.
Unfortunately experienced three quarter Rob White has taken a step back from rugby, and he is joined by long serving Brad Bateup who has taken a break from the game.
Aaron Cooper, who joined midway through last season, is taking some time away from the rugby due to family and work commitments, we hope to have him back in the near future.
Michael Dunnett, has decided not to commit to National League Rugby and has joined another club, and Travis James has joined a club closer to home for the upcoming season. We wish all these players well and look forward to welcoming them back at the club soon.
However, we are delighted to confirm a number of new signings for the upcoming season;
We have strengthened front row options with the signing of hooker Taine Wagstaff, who spent last season at Championship side Richmond on loan from parent club Rosslyn Park, and 3 props - loose head Will Spendlove, who joins from National League side Leicester Lions, and Medway tight head Maik Timmerman and Beckenham tight head Kareem Swandells.
Oxford University lock Hugh McPhearson returns to Combe having spent last season playing in France. There are back row reinforcements with Rotherham Titan Aydan Godden, who returns to the area following university, and brother Aaron Godden who joins from local side Bromley.
We have strengthened depth at scrum half with Ricki Gould joining from Rochford Hundred, where he made over 100 appearances and Mikel Davis, who arrives from BUCS Super Rugby side Cardiff University.
Ex-Durham University fly half Nathan Wyman joins from Caldy RFC, whom he helped guide to the Championship in 2022, by winning National One.
Midfield stocks are bolstered with South African Kyan Braithwaite joining from Canterbury, where he made over 100 appearances in National One and Two, and Ex-Nottingham University centre Tom Vickers signing from National League Bournville.
We also welcome new additions for the back three with Tom Burman joining from Banbury, Alex Verissimo from Old Colfeians, Jonathan Ilori from London Welsh and Victor Nzolele from Old Ruts, completing the list of new signings.
We are also pleased to welcome back homegrown Ben Fryatt (scrum half) and Matt Smith (back three) who return to Combe after finishing university.
