Following last weekend’s win against Tring we’re back on the road this week as we visit Harpenden RFC in Round 15.
We last faced Harpenden in Round 7 at Goddington Lane winning 40-12 in a game which was far more closely contested than the scoreline suggests. Harpenden we’re well organised with some good players so we know we’ll need another strong performance to take points from the game. Harpenden currently sit seventh in the table returning four wins and two draws, they do come into this fixture on the back of a strong away win at CS Stags last week10-31.
We travel to Harpenden following our victory over Tring last weekend 29-13. Prior to the game it was first against second so we we’re pleased to put on a strong performance in challenging conditions after a few weeks off. Taking maximum points, albeit deserved, was a bonus. Tring, as expected we’re direct and physical, we defended especially well in what was a dominant overall performance against strong opposition so we're pleased at the end of the game.
It was pleasing to open this block of four games through January with five points and a strong performance. We wouldn’t swap how the seasons gone so far but there is still a lot to come from the group, following the break the squads in a strong place, we’re looking forward to seeing how we perform in the last third of the season.
It was great to see the squad so well supported last week, it was massively appreciated, especially with how the weather was. We’re looking forward to seeing the travelling support at Harpenden this week.
The Extra 1st XV also returned the winning was last week against Vigo RFC 15-31, they have a challenging fixture at Sevenoaks 2’s this week so any support there would also be appreciated.
