Westcombe Park are pleased to welcome Chris Green to the club. Chris will be taking over the role vacated by Dave Marshall as Head Coach for the first and second teams.
Chris brings a wealth of experience from within the game having played for and captained Southend for 13 years in Nat 1 and Nat 2 before at coaching at Seevic College, Rochford and Lydney
Chris will be ably supported by Harry Hudson who will move onto the coaching unit full time for next season. Mike Melford will be remaining as the Strength and Conditioning Coach whilst Head Physio Tom Lewis will continue in his role next season, taping up the walking wounded. Further appointments to the coaching unit are being finalised.
Chris commented “I’m delighted to be joining a group of players and club that have had their most successful season for years by finishing 5th in Nat 2 East . Our aim is to continue the excellent progress made on the pitch whilst putting our own spin on things but also develop everything that supports that.”
Chairman of Rugby, Phil Cramp, said “It’s great to have Chris onboard. We have all been so impressed with his energy, enthusiasm and knowledge for the game is and I am sure he will fit in brilliantly here at Combe. “.
We wish him, and the whole coaching unit, all the very best for next season. It should be very exciting.
