Successes all around the club

In these tough times its great to be able to share some good news.

Today the RFU have confirmed that Westcombe Park RFC have been promoted to London and South East premier division. The RFU calculation meant that Combe were second in our division above Camberley and also had a better overall score than Colchester who were second placed in London North 1. Commiserations to both teams as they must be disappointed with the way the season has ended. We wish them all the best in their endeavours next season and look forward to playing them in the future.

A huge well done to all who have contributed to this success and we can look forward to more stirring times at Goddington Dene when Rugby resumes.

Elsewhere in the club the 2nd XV won a share of the Kent cup with Sevenoaks as the final could not be played. There is the possibility that they have won the league as well and Rob is checking with Kent on that front. Well done to Joe Simpson and the team. The Vets brought home the cup after a high scoring game at Maidstone. Great stuff from Dave Grace and the rest of the old crocks. Chriss Snape has managed to get both 3s and 4s teams out pretty regularly which is great for the broader club. Finally, the Colts won the Kent plate thanks to the efforts of their coaching team and players.

So a great season at Combe despite the challenges that the current medical crisis has presented. Again well done to all involved and let's hope we can build on the success across the club for next season if Rugby can restart.

In the meantime we hope you are all safe and well.
