Combe have had a change to their coaching team for this season with Dan Buckland being appointed as head Extra 1st XV coach. Dan takes over from Steve Wagstaff who is off to work with Ealing and we would like to wish him all the best in his continuing coaching development and thank him for his hard work last term.
Dan is an excellent replacement and is currently a Community Rugby Coach with Kent County and a former player with Blackheath. As well as being a Level 2 RFU Coach he has coached University side Goldsmiths College and has experienced elite coaching within the England Counties XV. He is also a coach within the elite Kent PDC (Player Development Centre) and with the county youth age groups.
Dan is also being joined by Dean Sole who needs little introduction. As a player for many years with Westcombe Parks 1st team, Dean has retired from playing rugby and has decided to strive forward with his coaching. He will assist Dan with the Extras and will also support Gideon Roux with the Strength and Conditioning for the 1st team squad.
I would like to welcome Dan and Dean to the coaching team and wish them both the best of luck for the coming season and beyond.
