For the 2nd year running the Foxbury Festival was held on a beautiful day, perfect for rugby. With no desire to chat about the prior evening’s RWC game it was straight down to business for the U12s Hawks.

We’d been drawn in the host’s group with a number of familiar foes. With the squad all having just started at a variety of secondary schools, some of the match-ups were made even more “spicy” when the boys came up against their new school team mates. Throughout the day the boys’ defense and teamwork were superb, with the first aiders kept busy due to the level of commitment. We held firm to go through unbeaten to the Cup Final, with the highlight a last minute draw against Darts (which was the least we deserved!).

The final against Sevenoaks proved a step too far for us, but what a great (albeit unexpected!) start to our final year as Minis.
