The next pre-match lunch on 17th November is dedicated to the memory of Lt Cecil Sewell, who was awarded a posthumous VC for his actions on the Somme in August 2018 and was one of 24 Combe members who gave their lives in the Great War. We shall be unveiling a portrait of Cecil (which will be on permanent display in the Roughton Room) at the lunch to mark the 100th anniversary of his death. I am delighted that a number of Cecil’s family will be guests at the lunch and I very much hope you will join us too.

The lunch is prior to the game against Medway, which kicks off at 2pm. We will therefore sit down at 12.30pm prompt, and the menu is:

• Boeuf Bourguignon with rice served with petit pois, carrots & sugar snaps
• Individual sticky toffee puddings with toffee sauce and cream or cheese and biscuits

The cost is £20 per head and the last booking date is Monday 12 November. Please note we are using different caterers who have asked for final numbers by Monday 12th at the latest so there will not be scope to accept late bookings. Tables for groups of people are available to book or alternatively please indicate who you would like to be seated with.
