Combe girls triumph again

On a cold, wet and windy Sunday, Combe girls U13 & U15 traveled to Tunbridge Wells RFC for the Kent 7's competition. Turnout was good from clubs in Kent at all the age groups from U13 to U18. Combe U13 once again joined with Old Alleynians to defend the trophy they won last year. The girls played brilliantly, won all their matches and were once again crowned Kent U13 girls champions. For most of them it was their last season at U13 and they will form the nucleus of next years U15 side, with those girls not moving up to U18. The U15 were in pool B and were supported by Beckenham girls. Again the girls played with spirit and enthusiasm, ending up in the plate competition. After a break for other games to finish and lunch, they went on to be crowned Kent girls U15 plate winners. This is a great achievement for girls rugby at Combe and a great way to finish the season.
Combe girls hold their next recruitment day on 20th May at the club, 10-12pm. Once again they will be coached by premiership/international players from Harlequins and Richmond . Any girls in years 6 and above are welcome to come down and give rugby a "try". We have a few at U13 but now need new players to bring the side up to strength again. We also need U15 players to replace those moving up to U18.
