Midsummer, 21st June, and the hottest day of the year so far. The teams start turning up late afternoon at Westcombe Park RFC, where the Charity Rounders Match was being held.
Food and refreshments were supplied, and the bar was open, the sun was hot and so were the teams, and that was before the games even started!!
CWJ organised a great afternoon of Rounders, with local companies taking part, to raise awareness and money for The Maypole Project.
CWJ, Calfordseaden, FW Berringer, Neilcott Construction, S&B Herba, Stoneham plc, RSM, Grugeon Reynolds & Kenton Homes all put their work on hold for an afternoon of fun in the sun. And what an afternoon it was.
The Maypole Project’s Julia James attended and presided over the Raffle. An impressive £2050.00 was raised, and a lot of fun was had by all.
Well done to CWJ for a great afternoon, please count Westcombe Park RFC in next year for a team!!
